Rescue Archaeological Research along the Route of the Eastern Late Roman Wall of Odessos (now-days Varna)

The earliest archaeological materials from the rescue excavations were found in an alleged grave destroyed during the laying of the Late Roman fortress wall. The finds were a red-figure aryballos-shaped lekythos with the depiction of a sphinx and a terracotta figurine of goddess on the throne (?), both from the Classical period.
